Can't connect to Mainstage adapter

I've been using my Mainstage adapter to watch movies successfully for a long time and now it isn't working.

I updated a few drivers a month or so ago to resolve some other issues and while I'm sure I tested WiDi it isn't picking up the adapter now.

So I ran the Intel Driver Update Utility and performed the updates it recommended, but still with no luck.  I also first updated my graphics driver from the manufacturer website (Intel HD Graphics 3000 version 8.15.10.2418).

I updated to ProSet/Wireless version 16.6.0 which I understand was supposed to automatically install My WiFi Dashboard but it didn't.  I found a recommendation to click on Change in Windows Programs and Features to enable installation of My WiFi Dashboard, but it only provides 2 options - repair and uninstall, which suggests a problem.  I get the same results after multiple successful Repairs and reinstalls.

I manually installed My WiFi Dashboard as it seems to be a requirement and it replaces My WiFi Technology.  The latest available version was 15.06.0 and it installed the Lite version.  I see a requirement for the version to match that of ProSet/Wireless so maybe this is an issue, although I can't find a higher version.  If I click on My WiFi Dashboard in Windows Programs and Features it also displays a Repair option, which also ran successfully but continues to display as an option.

I updated WiDi to 4.2.21.  I can run the application but the scan does not detect the Mainstage adapter.  I can bring up My WiFi Dashboard but it displays the message that I need an upgrade ("This computer is capable of using Intel My WiFi Technology, however a supported version of the software is not installed").

I am at a loss and looking for help.
